Ethereum takes another step towards a major upgrade, as the development team successfully launched the Pectra upgrade on the Hoodi testnet on Wednesday. According to the current progress, this Pectra upgrade is expected to officially land on the mainnet in the second quarter (Q2) of this year.

Hoodi is a new testnet specially launched by the Ethereum team on March 17, aimed at conducting final tests for the Pectra upgrade. Due to two previous attempts on the Holesky and Sepolia testnets encountering technical issues, which delayed the upgrade progress, the development team decided to open a new battlefield to ensure smooth operation of the Pectra upgrade in a brand new testing environment.
