I remember one small thing that happened, it was not big but it stayed in my head. In school, teacher asked us to write about our favorite place. I wrote about a quiet hill near my house. But I didnt write everything. I didnt write the exact spot, or the secret path me and my friend use. I only shared what I felt okay to share.
That day I learned something, even without knowing it. Sharing doesnt mean giving everything.
But when I started using internet more, it felt very different. Every app, every website, they ask too many things. Name, number, email, location, sometimes things I dont even understand why they need. And most of the time I just press yes yes yes, because I want to use it fast.
One day my brother was talking about @MidnightNetwork. I didnt pay attention first. It sounded like some big complicated thing. But then he said something simple. He said, “What if internet works like your school answer. You share only what you want, not everything.”
That made me stop.
He explained in a very easy way. He said with things like $NIGHT, people can build apps where your data stays with you. You dont have to open your whole life just to use something small. You can prove things without showing all details. Like saying “I passed the exam” without showing full paper.
It felt strange but also correct.
Right now, internet feels like standing in middle of road and talking. Everyone can hear, even those who should not. And once you say something, you cant take it back. It just stays there.
But what if things change slowly. What if we get small controls. Not big complicated tools, just simple choices. Like yes share this, no dont share that.
I started thinking about future. Maybe one day, kids like me wont feel scared to share online. Not because things are hidden, but because they are safe. Because we decide what goes out and what stays in.
I am not expert, I dont know all big words. But I understand this one small thing. People dont want to hide everything, they just dont want to lose everything.
And maybe, just maybe, this idea of #night is not about darkness at all. Maybe its about having a small light that only you can control.
#night @MidnightNetwork $NIGHT
