I’ve been thinking about a question that comes up often in Web3 — can a system really be both private and trustless at the same time? Traditionally, blockchains rely on full transparency to build trust. Everything is visible, and that’s how users verify what’s happening.

But at the same time, this openness can feel uncomfortable. Not everyone wants their transactions, balances, or activity exposed to the public.

While exploring @MidnightNetwork , I started to see a different approach. With the vision behind $NIGHT and the use of zero-knowledge technology, it seems possible to prove that something is valid without revealing the underlying data.

From my perspective, this changes the way we think about trust. Instead of trusting what we can see, we begin to trust what can be mathematically verified.

In my opinion, if this balance works in practice, blockchain doesn’t have to choose between privacy and trustlessness. It might be able to achieve both — and that could be a big step forward for Web3.
