Regardless of the market, new retail investors often blindly believe in insider information and front-running, thinking that those who make money in the market possess some kind of secret. Once I have that thing, I too can become a person who makes money. Treating information and front-running as a lifeline is particularly representative of the retail investor mindset; choosing to rely on it labels oneself as a retail investor, then abandoning critical thinking and giving up on cognitive victory.
