I remember when I used to get excited about almost every new crypto project that launched. After spending more time in this space, I've realized that early announcements only tell part of the story. What really shapes my opinion is what happens after a network goes live and people begin using it.
That's why I'm keeping an eye on Newton Protocol's Phase 1 and Mainnet Beta with an open mind.
What I find interesting is its focus on privacy through zero-knowledge proofs. Public blockchains have traditionally relied on transparency, where transactions and wallet activity are visible on-chain. While that has clear benefits, I think it's reasonable to ask whether the same approach will suit every type of user or application as blockchain technology continues to evolve.
At the same time, experience has made me cautious. I've seen projects with thoughtful ideas and solid technical designs face challenges once they reached real-world use. Developer experience, usability, and whether a solution addresses genuine user needs often matter just as much as the underlying technology.
For me, the Mainnet Beta is where Newton Protocol starts answering those practical questions. I'll be paying more attention to how the network develops and how it's used than to the initial excitement around it.
It's an interesting project to follow, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it progresses over time.
