Sei Labs has released version 2 of its Giga white paper, adding new privacy and fairness designs and lowering the Autobahn consensus protocol’s finality target from 400 milliseconds to below 250 milliseconds. According to Foresight News, the update also maintains throughput of more than 200,000 transactions per second and 5 Gigagas per second.
The revised white paper introduces the Sedna private transaction layer and a deterministic transaction ordering mechanism. Sei Labs said these changes are intended to provide pre-execution privacy, resistance to MEV, and censorship resistance.
Sei Labs said work on the Giga upgrade is ongoing. The company added that subsequent development will include a complete transaction fee mechanism, an Autobahn consensus upgrade, and new tokenomics for the SEI token.
