#newt $NEWT @NewtonProtocol
I used to think KYC was just a gate, but with Newton it feel more like a small signed function.
The thesis is simple: identity only becomes useful onchain when it returns less data, not more.
NEWT Token sits around $0.05, with about 288M circulating from 1B supply; that tells me the system is still early, not deeply absorbed by market demand yet 🙂
24h volume near $6.7M against roughly $14.5M market cap is LOUD activity, but also thin liquidity pressure, becuse small flows can move price fast.
If Newton credentials say “business verified” or “user passed,” the real thing under it is signed claims, not passport sharing.
That enable policy checks before execution, but it also create issuer risk: who signed, when, and can that trust be revoked?
So the market question is not only identity.
It is whether verified attributes can become settlement infrastructure without turning into another data warehouse.
Should Newton verify attributes instead of sharing full identity data?
