One of the most interesting aspects of my research into AI infrastructure is a simple question:
Who should be rewarded when AI creates value?
Today, AI models are trained on enormous amounts of data generated by countless contributors. Yet in most cases, the people who provide data, improve datasets, or help develop models receive little or no recognition once the system becomes successful.
This is where Proof of Attribution stands out as one of the most important ideas behind OpenLedger.
The Attribution Problem in AI
Modern AI depends on a chain of contributors:
🔹 Data providers
🔹 Dataset curators
🔹 Model developers
🔹 Infrastructure operators
🔹 End users generating feedback
The challenge is that contributions often become invisible once they are merged into a model.
As AI adoption grows, the inability to identify and reward contributors becomes both an economic and governance problem.
How OpenLedger Approaches Attribution
What attracted my attention is OpenLedger's focus on building transparent attribution directly into the AI economy.
The idea is straightforward:
✅ Track contributions on-chain
✅ Record the origin of datasets and model improvements
✅ Measure how value is created across the ecosystem
✅ Distribute rewards to contributors based on their impact
Instead of value flowing only to platform owners, OpenLedger aims to create a system where participants are recognized for the role they play in building AI.

Why Attribution Matters
Without attribution:
❌ Contributors lack incentives
❌ High-quality data becomes harder to source
❌ Value distribution remains opaque
❌ AI ecosystems become increasingly centralized
With attribution:
✔ Better incentives for data creation
✔ Stronger community participation
✔ Transparent reward mechanisms
✔ Sustainable growth of AI networks
Building an AI Economy
In my view, attribution is more than a technical feature.
It is the foundation of a functioning AI economy.
If contributors cannot prove their impact, they cannot fairly participate in the value generated by AI systems.
@OpenLedger Proof of Attribution framework attempts to solve this by connecting contribution, ownership, and rewards into a single transparent system.
As AI continues to evolve, the projects that successfully align incentives may prove just as important as the projects building the most powerful models.
And that's one reason why I'm closely following the development of OpenLedger and the broader vision behind the $OPEN ecosystem.
