#TheInterchainFoundation (ICF) has funded the open-sourcing of #evmOS , an innovative Ethereum-compatible #Layer1 solution enabling developers to create EVM-powered blockchains with the #CosmosSDK . evmOS will be open-sourced under the Apache 2.0 license, with the ICF forking it as Cosmos EVM for continued development within the #InterchainStack by the #InterchainLabs (ICL) team. This applies solely to the OS repository, while other Evmos-related libraries and the Evmos blockchain remain independent and outside this initiative.

The ICF will integrate Cosmos EVM, its fork of evmOS, into the Interchain Stack as Cosmos' canonical EVM solution. Alongside Interchain Labs, it will lead development and ensure ongoing ecosystem integration.
