The Polygon Foundation has announced the successful restoration of consensus and finality functions on its layer-2 scaling network within the Ethereum ecosystem. The bug originated from a faulty proposal by a validator, leading some Bor nodes—responsible for transaction ordering and block production—to diverge onto separate network forks. Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal detailed the resolution, noting that fixes were rolled out for Heimdall v0.3.1 and Bor 2.2.11 beta2. These updates purged the problematic milestone from the database, ensuring that nodes are no longer stalled and that checkpoints and milestones are finalizing as expected. Transactions on Polyscan, Polygon’s block explorer, are now displaying correctly, indicating a full recovery.
