I don't usually post about TAO often, but the current chart structure deserves an honest conversation — because what's unfolding here is a textbook example of a prolonged downtrend that still hasn't shown convincing signs of reversal.

Let me walk you through what I'm seeing.

Current price: $243.0 — up a modest +0.29% today, sitting just below MA(7) at 243.5. That tiny green candle after days of selling pressure might feel like relief. But zoom out, and the picture tells a very different story.

The MA structure says it all.

MA(7) at 243.5 → MA(25) at 247.9 → MA(99) at 277.8

All three moving averages are stacked bearishly and sloping downward. Price is trading below all of them. This isn't a setup you buy aggressively — this is a setup you respect and wait on. The MA(99) at 277.8 is a long way above current price, and getting back above it will require sustained buying pressure that simply hasn't materialized yet.

The bounce from $234.3 to $267.4 looked promising — briefly.

That recovery mid-April was encouraging on the surface. Volume spiked, price pushed through MA(7) and briefly challenged MA(25). But sellers showed up right at resistance, and the rejection was swift. We're now back to $243 — almost exactly where we started before that bounce.

That's a bearish signal. Failed recoveries that give back gains quickly tend to attract more sellers, not buyers.

The performance data is hard to ignore.

7 Days: -6.57%

30 Days: -9.80%

90 Days: -4.63%

180 Days: -40.31%

1 Year: -13.55%

Across every meaningful timeframe, TAO has been underperforming. The 180-day figure of -40.31% in particular tells you how much ground has been lost since the peak cycle enthusiasm around AI-linked tokens.

Volume is fading too. Current volume at 9,950 is well below both MA(5) at 16,463 and MA(10) at 15,163. Low volume during a weak bounce isn't a recovery — it's exhaustion.

Key levels to watch:

Immediate resistance: $246.8 → $247.9 (MA25) → $250.6 (24H high)

Support: $237.5 (24H low) → $234.3 (recent swing low)

Major resistance above: $267.4 → $277.8 (MA99)

What needs to happen for TAO to turn bullish?

A clean reclaim of MA(25) at $247.9 with volume expansion would be the first real sign. Until then, every bounce is a potential selling opportunity for those already positioned. A break below $234.3 could accelerate the move toward $220 fairly quickly.

TAO's fundamentals around decentralized AI infrastructure remain genuinely interesting. But fundamentals don't override technicals in bear market conditions — and right now, the chart is in charge.
