US Dollar Weekly: Will Kevin Warsh please President Trump?United States President Donald Trump’s nominee to succeed Jerome Powell as Federal Reserve Chair, Kevin Warsh, faced senators, and there was no subtlety. When directly asked if he believes his nomination was directly linked to Trump’s “obsession” with lower rates, the answer was no surprise: he dodged that question – and many others – like a champion. An educated guess would suggest that US President Trump chose Warsh because of his criticism of current Chair Jerome Powell. Inflation is a choice, and the Fed’s track record under Chairman Jerome Powell is one of unwise choices,” Warsh stated in an essay titled “The Federal Reserve’s Broken Leadership,” published last November. “Americans would have higher pay and greater purchasing power if the Fed got its act together,” Warsh added. Not bad for a Trump-ish start. He also put the focus on the massive Fed balance sheet, now running at around $6.7 trillion. Warsh believes the Fed has injected unnecessary liquidity into the economy, pumping up the stock market and boosting deficit spending, while crowding out private investment. Warsh wants to reduce it significantly, that’s out of question. But Warsh also pushed against the Fed’s narrative of “transitory” inflationary pressures in 2021. “Jerome Powell’s Fed believes the party is just getting started and won’t remove the punch bowl until the fun is in full swing and the neighbors know it,” he noted back then. Indeed, Warsh has not saved any criticism of Powell, and that was one major factor tipping the scale in his favor. But don’t be fooled. Warsh is not getting the chair position just because of his criticism of Powell’s actions. He has an extensive background that supports the nomination, including acting as Fed Governor between 2006 and 2011, when the mortgage crisis hit the global economy. He is also a tech-geek, with strong ties to Silicon Valley monsters, and if confirmed, he will be the wealthiest chair ever. Warsh is also an advocate of the free market, having an anti-regulatory view of the world Warsh's prepared statement before the Senate Committee gave some discrete hints on where he is heading. Warsh defended the Fed’s independence, but also noted he doesn’t believe that dynamic is endangered when the central bank’s actions are questioned by elected leaders. It’s well known that Fed chairs over the last few decades have respected continuity. His criticism of Powell and focus on reducing the balance sheet already suggest continuity won’t be as strong as it had been in the past. President Trump also demands lower rates and even told CNBC on Tuesday that he will be disappointed if Warsh doesn’t cut interest rates “right away” after being confirmed as the next Fed chair. When asked whether he is here to work for the people or for Trump, Warsh said that “all presidents” tend to favor lower interest rates, and that the Fed’s independence is up to the Fed. He also dismissed inflationary pressures related to tariffs, adding that his broad sense is that inflation risk has improved somewhat. Looking further ahead, the weekly chart for DXY offers a neutral stance. The index seesaws around a directionless 20-week SMA while technical indicators are stuck around their midlines for a second consecutive week, reflecting the lack of directional conviction. A slide below the aforementioned April low exposes the multi-month bottom set last January at 95.56. A recovery beyond 99, on the other hand, exposes the 99.30 region, while steady gains beyond the latter could signal an extension towards the March peak at 100.54 #Kriptocutrader #ValentinesDay2024 #cryptouniverseofficial #GoogleDocsMagic #UnicornChannel

Alameda moves $16 million in Solana's SOL token for possible creditor distributionAlameda unstakes $16 million worth of Solana's SOL token, according to Arkham. The latest move follows a familiar pattern: unstake coins and route them to addresses used to reimburse creditors. About a month ago, Alameda did the same, directing funds to the same distribution address. That prior move ultimately raised expectations that the funds were part of an ongoing creditor repayment process tied to the firm’s restructuring. While there has been no formal confirmation that this specific tranche will be distributed imminently, the repetition of the pattern suggests continuity in the process rather than an isolated movement. SOL, the native token of programmable blockchain Solana, has a market capitalization of $47.26 billion, which makes it the seventh-largest digital asset in the world. As of writing, SOL traded near $82, largely unchanged on a 24-hour basis, but down significantly from its all-time high of $293 hit in January last year. Alameda, founded by Sam Bankman-Fried in 2017, began as a quantitative trading shop focused on arbitrage opportunities in digital assets, exploiting price differences across exchanges and markets. At its peak, Alameda was a major liquidity provider across crypto markets and was deeply embedded in the ecosystem, trading billions in volume and operating across spot, derivatives, and structured products. Alameda still holds about 3.5 million SOL worth $294.10 million, per Arkham. #PresidentialDebate #orocryptotrends #InvestmentAccessibility #UnicornChannel #YourFavoriteInfluencer

M27 works 'cost us millions' as route reopensThe boss of a global haulage firm has said the two-year lane closures on part of one of the south coast's busiest roads has cost the firm £2.4m. What’s behind the US Army’s decision to raise enlistment age to 42?

The United States Army announced last month that it would raise the maximum age at which Americans can enlist from 35 to 42 years to expand its pool of eligible candidates amid recruiting challenges in recent years.
An updated version of US Army Regulation 601–210, dated March 20, outlined the changes, including the elimination of rules requiring anyone with a single conviction for marijuana possession or drug paraphernalia to obtain a waiver to enlist
Government data shows that while the US Army has met its recruitment goals over the last two years, it fell short in 2022 and 2023 and has consistently failed to meet targets for the Army Reserve, shortcomings that analysts have attributed to several possible factors
The new age limit was announced during the US-Israel war on Iran, towards which young people have expressed widespread opposition
Here’s what you need to know about the changes
The updated version of Army Regulation 601–210 officially takes effect on Monday, April 20
The US Army announced updated enlistment regulations on March 20, with the changes scheduled to take effect one month later on April 20 and applying to the Regular Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard.
The maximum enlistment age is raised from 35 to 42, and previous restrictions requiring anyone with a single conviction for possession of marijuana or drug paraphernalia to obtain a waiver to enlist are done away with
The changes announced in March are specific to the US Army
The military news outlet Stars and Stripes reported that those changes bring the army into greater alignment with the maximum enlistment age of other branches of the military, such as the Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, and Space Force, which accept enlistees in their early 40s
While the US Army did not comment on the reasons for the increase, data from the US Army Recruiting Command show that the army has struggled with recruitment challenges
While the army met 100 percent of its recruitment goals in 2025 and 2024, it missed its target by about 23 percent in 2023 and 25 percent in 2022
That data also shows that the army has fallen short of recruitment targets for the Army Reserve for the last six years in a row
The average age of army recruits has risen in recent years to 22.7, up from 21.7 in the 2000s and 21.1 in the 2010s, according to the military news outlet Army Times, citing data from a US Army spokesperson
The US Army Recruiting Command has attributed such challenges to issues such as changes in the labour market, limited awareness about military service, and a lack of qualified young people due to issues such as obesity, drug use, and mental health issues
A 2018 poll listed concerns over possible injury and death, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), separation from family and friends, and other career interests as top reasons offered by young people for not joining the military

India plans more seats for women in parliament, links it to ‘delimitation’The Indian government is seeking to expedite the implementation of a 2023 law that reserves 33 percent of seats in parliament and state assemblies for women, but has linked the move to a sweeping redrawing of parliamentary constituencies, sharpening political tensions. We’re set to take historic steps to empower women,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said before a special sitting of parliament on Thursday as his government introduced three bills to be debated in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of parliament. While two of the three bills relate to extending the number of women in parliament and state assemblies, a third bill relates to “delimitation”, as the process to redraw parliamentary boundaries based on population is called in India. The bill aims to increase the overall size of parliament from 543 Lok Sabha seats to 850 The bills are being taken up during a three-day special session and will require a two-thirds majority in both houses to pass. Modi’s National Democratic Alliance (NDA) holds 293 seats in lower house of parliament while a two-thirds majority would require 360 votes Women currently account for 14 percent of the Lok Sabha members. “We are all united to give rightful positions to women in India,” Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Thursday Several Asian countries, including India’s neighbours like Nepal and Bangladesh, have similar quotas for women in national legislatures. India already mandates that one-third of seats be set aside for women in local governing bodies But the opposition was not convinced. Some members from southern states turned up in parliament dressed in black as a mark of protest. MK Stalin, chief minister of the southern state of Tamil Nadu and a rival to the BJP, burned a copy of the bill and raised a black flag in protest, urging people across the state to do the same. “Let the flames of resistance spread across Tamil Nadu,” Stalin said, accusing the BJP of trying to marginalise the state through redrawn boundaries. “Let the arrogance of the fascist BJP be brought down #Robertkiyosaki #HalvingUpdate #UnicornChannel #kdmrcrypto #LISTAAirdrop

A full fuel tank is costing us £300 more'A haulier is calling for government support as rising fuel prices caused by conflict in the Middle East drive up operating costs. Matt Prewett, network operations manager at Hawks Haulage in Leicester, said the cost of filling up a lorry with diesel had shot up by about £300 since March And while customers are "understanding" of the situation, he said Hawks has had no choice but to pass on some of the rising cost of doing business, and firms need the government to "step in The government told the BBC it has extended the five‑pence fuel duty cut twice, until September, and will continue to monitor the situation. South Africa names apartheid-era politician as new ambassador to the USSouth Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed Roelf Meyer, who served in the last government of the apartheid era, as his new ambassador to the US, his office has said. The country has not had a top envoy in the US since Ebrahim Rasool was expelled last year after he accused President Donald Trump of trying to "project white victimhood as a dog whistle".
