T+0 and the Era of Instant Settlement in Bond Trading
The biggest bottleneck in the traditional South Korean bond market lies in the two-day (T+2) settlement process, due to the need for cross-referencing between banks, brokers, and regulators. The Proof of Concept project by Ripple and Kyobo Life targets this exact puzzle by moving the entire process onto a testnet environment using institutional blockchain infrastructure. By converting government bonds into digital tokens, all buying and selling actions will be executed through smart contracts, allowing for near-instant transfer of ownership and payment. This is the "real-time payment structure" the two parties are aiming for, helping to eliminate liquidity risks often found during periods of high market volatility. Testing in a secure testnet environment allows Kyobo to fine-tune security and performance parameters before official live operation. The success of this model could become the standard for tokenizing other complex financial assets on a global scale in the near future. Users should regularly update technical reports from the project to better understand the feasibility of this model. (DYOR) $XRP $DENT $GPS
