Carmine G. Agnello Jr., the grandson of mob boss John "Teflon Don" Gotti and son of Victoria Gotti, was sentenced Monday to 15 months in federal prison for fraudulently obtaining roughly $1.1 million in COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loans. Prosecutors had sought up to 33 months. The 39-year-old must pay $1,268,302 in restitution, serve two years of supervised release, and complete 100 hours of community service.
Agnello ran Crown Auto Parts & Recycling in Queens and submitted three EIDL applications between April 2020 and November 2021 with inflated payroll numbers and false statements about how the funds would be used. Instead of using the money for the business, he diverted roughly $420,000 into a cryptocurrency business. He pleaded guilty to wire fraud in September 2024.
His defense attorney Jeffrey Lichtman framed the crypto investment as gambling addiction rather than theft and noted Agnello will be the 16th member of his family to go to prison. Agnello, who appeared as a child on A&E's "Growing Up Gotti," surrenders on July 20
