What’s happening at G7 Summit in France:*
1. *Ukraine war*: Trump met Zelenskyy and said “Iran deal is done, now focus is Ukraine”. G7 leaders agreed to keep pressure on Russia with more sanctions.
2. *US-Iran deal*: After 3.5 months of conflict, Trump announced a deal. Strait of Hormuz should reopen by Friday 19 June. 60-day talks ahead on Iran’s nuclear program + sanctions. Europe is a bit skeptical though - they want a “solid” deal, not a weak one.
3. *US politics*: Back home, California Governor Gavin Newsom accused Trump of telling the Justice Department to investigate him + his wife. Politics never stops, even at G7.
*My thought*: Big leaders, big decisions. If Strait of Hormuz opens, maybe oil prices calm down. That’s all I care about as a regular person 😅
