U.S. Energy Secretary Wright said about 20 million barrels of crude oil were shipped through the Strait of Hormuz in the past 24 hours, with tankers continuing to transit the waterway.
According to Jin10, Wright made the remarks when asked how much crude had moved through the strait after the United States and Iran preliminarily reached an agreement to end the war.
“I can say that in the past 24 hours there were about 72 ships, and the crude shipped was about 20 million barrels,” Wright said.
He added that Iran would no longer have the ability to close the Strait of Hormuz, calling that capability Iran’s main leverage and saying the United States was removing it.
