What keeps pulling me back to Midnight is not just the privacy angle. It is the way the project seems to ask a quieter question. What if advanced cryptography keeps struggling not because the math is too hard, but because the developer path into it feels too unnatural? Compact makes me wonder whether privacy tech finally starts spreading when builders can approach it without feeling like they need to become cryptography researchers first. But that also raises another question. If tooling hides complexity, do developers still fully understand the privacy tradeoffs underneath? Midnight feels interesting to me because it is not only building privacy infrastructure. It is testing developer psychology too.
