@MidnightNetwork I was checking some DeFi transactions and it hit me again… crypto is transparent almost to a fault. Ownership is decentralized, yes. But privacy? Not really.

That’s what made me curious about Night.

From what I’ve been reading, it uses zero knowledge proofs, which let the blockchain verify something without exposing the actual data behind it. The proof confirms it’s valid, but the sensitive details stay hidden.

I think that could become useful infrastructure for Web3, especially if it connects well with Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks where most DeFi activity happens.

Still, ZK systems are complicated. If the tech stays heavy for developers, real utility might take longer to reach everyday users.

Sometimes I wonder if “decentralization solved ownership” first and privacy later.

Most blockchains are extremely transparent. That helped build trust early on, but it also means every transaction becomes permanent public data.

While reading about Night, I noticed the project focuses on ZK proof technology to balance that problem. Instead of revealing every detail, the network just proves the transaction is valid.

From what I’ve seen, this could strengthen Web3 infrastructure, especially for DeFi apps running across Layer 1 and Layer 2 ecosystems.

I like the direction, honestly.

But ZK cryptography isn’t simple. Scaling it while keeping things usable might be harder than it sounds.

Still feels like a challenge the blockchain space eventually has to tackle.
