so every web3 project says the same thing. "we're gonna hand control to the community." pixels says it too. but i always ask the same question: hand over what exactly ? and when ?
pixels governance roadmap says pixel token holders will get input on game decisions. economy stuff, content direction, resource balancing. sounds good on paper. genuine decentralization. but here's what i've seen happen over and over. projects give communities the illusion of control while the core team keeps veto power over anything that actually matters. the community votes on small stuff. team still decides the big stuff.
i'm not saying pixels will do that. i'm saying the pattern is common enough that you gotta watch carefully.
what i will credit them for is having the conversation out in the open. a lot of projects don't even bother talking about governance until someone screams at them. that's a low bar. but it's a real bar. at least they're asking the question instead of pretending it doesn't exist.
so yeah. i'm watching. not convinced. not dismissing. just watching.
