The accident occurred in the south of the country near the city of Adamus. The Iryo 6189 train, which was carrying more than 300 passengers, derailed for unknown reasons and flew to a different track. On it, the Alvia 2384 was moving in the opposite direction with about 100 passengers.
There was a strong collision, as a result of which the second vehicle also derailed.
