🚨 BREAKING: US Treasury Makes History With First-Ever Crypto Exchange Sanctions Against Iran

The U.S. Treasury just set a major precedent.

For the first time ever, OFAC has sanctioned digital asset exchanges for operating in Iran's financial sector.

Zedcex Exchange, Ltd.
Zedxion Exchange, Ltd.

Both are UK-registered crypto exchanges linked to Iranian businessman Babak Morteza Zanjani, a convicted money launderer who previously embezzled billions from Iran's National Oil Company.

Zedcex alone has processed over $94 billion in transactions since August 2022. Multiple wallet addresses from both exchanges have been tied directly to IRGC operations.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent made the message clear: "Treasury will continue to target Iranian networks and corrupt elites... including the regime's attempts to exploit digital assets to evade sanctions."

The bigger picture:

In 2025 alone, OFAC sanctioned over 875 persons, vessels, and aircraft as part of its maximum pressure campaign against Iran. Crypto is now firmly in the crosshairs.
