So the world's richest people and big companies borrow a lot of cheap Japanese yen at low interest rates.

With the borrowed yen, you buy things that can yield higher returns, such as Bitcoin (BTC) and US stocks (and then pay interest and make a profit on the rest).

The total value of these assets is estimated to be around $20 trillion.
