Recently, I ventured into crypto futures trading, hoping to make quick gains by riding the market volatility. I placed a highly leveraged trade on Ethereum using KinCross exchange, opting for an 80x leverage position. At the time, ETH seemed poised for a breakout, with indicators showing bullish momentum. I went long, confident that the price would continue climbing. However, the market had other plans.

Within a short period, Ethereum's price dipped sharply due to sudden market volatility and unexpected macroeconomic news. My liquidation price came too close, and before I could react, the position was forcefully liquidated. The 80x leverage magnified my loss significantly — what started as a hopeful trade turned into a financial nightmare.

This experience taught me the brutal reality of high-leverage trading. While the potential gains are tempting, the risks are just as enormous. I underestimated the importance of proper risk management and the unpredictable nature of crypto markets. This loss was a wake-up call, reminding me that in trading, especially with high leverage, one must be prepared for all outcomes. I'm now taking a step back to reassess my strategy and educate myself further before entering such risky positions again.
