Today, I will share a real scam case of a friend to raise awareness and help everyone avoid being deceived. I have introduced this type of scam before, but today I will analyze the scammer's process in detail using this case, so that everyone can understand their true intentions and the logic behind it. Although the scamming methods are diverse, the ultimate goals are consistent. I hope everyone can learn from this to prevent future scams.
The cause of the incident is that the scammer offers to buy USDT at a high price, where 1 USDT can be exchanged for 9.4 RMB, which is very tempting. The scammer asks friends to use a certain web3 non-private key wallet to operate; in fact, using other wallets like a certain wallet, IM, TPtoken wallet, etc., is the same. The key issue lies in the subsequent operations, not the wallet itself.
The scammer's rhetoric is that the USDT from the exchange is easy to trace, enticing friends to withdraw USDT to a web3 wallet. Under the scammer's guidance, friends created a non-private key wallet using a certain mobile app and then transferred the USDT to this new wallet. In fact, the scammer's true purpose is to have you operate the web3 wallet for subsequent scamming.
This certain web3 wallet can be any web3 wallet, and the network used (such as TRON, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, or Ethereum, etc.)
Since it was a newly created wallet, the scammer knew there was no TRX for gas fees, so he transferred 100 TRX (actually transferred 130) to the friend as gas fees. Then, the scammer asked the friend to transfer one USDT to test whether the wallet could make normal transfers. This step is crucial; the scammer's main goal is to have you perform a transfer operation to confirm that your account can make normal transfers, thereby paving the way for subsequent fraud. Common phrases also include buying and selling black U, fake U, etc., with the ultimate goal of getting you to transfer funds from your wallet to the scammer's wallet.#TrumpTariffs
