🚀 Ukraine officially presented the name of its national large language model — «Shining»! 🇺🇦✨
🫡 After a nationwide vote in «Diia», where more than 136,000 Ukrainians participated, the winner was the name «Shining». It received votes from 22,601 participants.
🧠 The model is being created by the Ministry of Digital Transformation in collaboration with Kyivstar. This is the first Ukrainian LLM being developed entirely with national interests in mind.
🔍 What is known today:
🔹️ Development started in June 2025
🔹️ The beta version is expected at the end of spring 2026, after which the model will be available to the public
🔹️ The name was chosen from over 3,000 proposals. The final round had 10 options: «Shining», «Ask», «Word», «Hoverla», «Bell», «Whisper», «Search», «Core», «Watermelon», «Echo»
🔹️ The main criterion — uniqueness and absence of copyright violations
«Shining» is planned to be integrated into key areas:
✅️ government services and «Diia»
✅️ educational platforms
✅️ business processes
✅️ defense technologies
