Don't be fooled by the myth of the 'King of Daily Active Users': Pixels' millions online is just a celebration for gold farming studios
Last night, I stared at the on-chain data of Ronin, watching Pixels' daily active users (DAU) soar like it was on steroids, filled with 'King of Web3 Games', yet I felt a chill. While the outside world sees a flourishing landscape, what I see is that @Pixels is digging a 'token inflation trap' for itself.
This is not a matter of rough aesthetics; it is the terminal illness of the 'low-cost gold farming model'.
Pixels' greatest arrogance at present is its belief in 'having more children is better for fighting'. They naively think that with Ronin's extremely low gas fees, very low entry barriers, and uninterrupted token production expectations, they can retain users. But those who come running are not game builders (those who really want to play games), but a group of 'gold farming locusts' (studios) who can flee at any moment.
The 'false excitement' propped up by subsidies
Currently, Pixels resembles an internet café that offers free traffic but still has to pay for internet fees: thousands of gold farming scripts are brushing through, crazily abusing the ecological tokens. They plant, chop trees, and complete tasks here, with the sole purpose of mining and selling. Once the official account bans become stricter or the output profits decline, these millions of daily active users will evaporate in five minutes. There are no real gaming players (those willing to pay) on-chain; everyone is just a mercenary.
In fact, seeing through this trick is very simple: don't look at the daily active user scale; look at the 'real token consumption' in the game.
As long as Pixels hasn't produced a native social/guild protocol that makes players willingly 'spend money' and not leave, its prosperity is just a mirage. Users rented through simple tasks absolutely cannot buy a 'moat' willing to traverse bull and bear markets. Only the loyal players who cannot be driven away and the actual utility of token consumption (not just gas fees, but purchases of advanced in-game rights) will give Ronin's ecosystem and project the confidence to survive.
