Foresight News reports that Franklin Templeton has completed its acquisition of crypto investment management firm 250 Digital. The deal includes the entire 250 Digital investment team and all liquidity crypto strategies previously managed by CoinFund, with Franklin Templeton injecting capital into these strategies. With the deal closed, Franklin Templeton has officially launched a dedicated crypto asset management division, Franklin Crypto, led by 250 Digital co-founder Christopher Perkins, with Seth Ginns as the Chief Investment Officer. They will jointly manage the team alongside Tony Pecore from Franklin Templeton's digital assets group, reporting to Sandy Kaul, the head of the company's innovation business. Franklin Crypto will offer actively managed crypto strategies to institutional investors.
Foresight News previously reported that Franklin Templeton announced in April 2026 its acquisition of the venture capital firm CoinFund's spin-off, 250 Digital, to expand its crypto investment operations. After the deal closes, Franklin Templeton will launch a crypto division focused on servicing pension funds and sovereign wealth funds, named 'Franklin Crypto'.
