Address poisoning is a crypto scam where attackers create wallet addresses that closely resemble ones you frequently use. They send tiny transactions from these fake addresses to 'corrupt' your transaction history, with the hope you’ll accidentally select the wrong address when sending funds.
Because wallet addresses are long and blockchain transactions are irreversible, a single mistake can lead to permanent loss. These attacks often target active users and large wallets.
HOW TO STAY SAFE:
1. Always double check the full wallet address before sending.
2. Do a small test transaction first.
3. Use trusted address lists (whitelists).
4. Be cautious of unfamiliar or tiny incoming transactions.
5.Consider wallets that flag suspicious addresses.
STAYING ALERT AND VERIFYING ADDRESSES CAREFULLY IS THE BEST DEFENSE.
