The Gartley pattern is fundamentally a harmonic structure consisting of five swing points (X, A, B, C, D). It is formed in two ways: bullish Gartley and bearish Gartley.
🔹 Bullish Gartley (Buy Setup)
Sequence: Low (X) → High (A) → Retrace from High (B) → Small Rise (C) → Low (D)
Fibonacci Rules:
AB ≈ 0.618 of XA
BC = 0.382 to 0.886 of AB
D ≈ 0.786 of XA (and D must be above X)
🔹 Bearish Gartley (Sell Setup)
Sequence: High (X) → Low (A) → Retrace from Low (B) → Small Drop (C) → High (D)
Fibonacci Rules:
AB ≈ 0.618 of XA
BC = 0.382 to 0.886 of AB
D ≈ 0.786 of XA (and D must be below X)
📌 Trading Rules (Generally):
Entry: At point D (or upon confirmation breakout)
Stop Loss: Outside of X (with some additional buffer)
Take Profit: At multiple levels, such as 38.2%, 61.8% of the AD leg, or up to point A
