What follows is not about a single project or a one-off mistake. It is the result of repeated observations across multiple launches, structures, and contracts.

In theory, launchpads exist to help blockchain projects raise capital, build communities, and distribute tokens in a fair and transparent way. In practice, an increasing number of platforms are exploiting structural loopholes that allow them, or participants closely linked to them, to extract value while maintaining the appearance of a successful raise. On the surface, everything looks healthy. Allocations are filled, dashboards show strong demand, and projects are led to believe they have secured meaningful funding.

Retail investors see what appears to be strong demand during a sale, then face immediate sell pressure and collapsing prices once tokens go live. There is little transparency around who actually fills allocations and under what conditions. Launchpads frequently act as promoters, gatekeepers, and sometimes participants within the same sale. Founders are expected to audit complex smart contracts under time pressure and with limited leverage, while being told after the fact that responsibility lies solely with them.

In Web3, the phrase you should have read the contract is often used as a shield. While technically accurate, it ignores the imbalance of power and information between platforms and project teams.

What we are observing should be taken seriously. Refund abuse, self filled allocations, and poorly designed fundraising contracts are quietly extracting value from legitimate builders and discouraging real innovation.

If these patterns continue, serious teams will move away from public fundraising altogether. Open participation will give way to closed and opaque deals. Trust between projects and communities will continue to erode.

In conclusion, responsibility exists on all sides. For users, investing should be a deliberate and respectful decision. Do not invest in projects that are not important to you, and only commit amounts you can afford to wait on as vesting periods unfold and results become visible. This mindset respects the human effort behind every project and reduces pressure for short term extraction.

For creators, diligence is non negotiable. Every document, contract, and clause should be read in detail before signing anything. Launchpads and contractors protect themselves through legal and contractual precision, and project teams must do the same. Asking questions, challenging unclear terms, and fully understanding refund and vesting logic is not optional, it is essential.

Web3 cannot rely on marketing optics alone.
