China, as one of the largest buyers of Middle Eastern oil and particularly Qatari liquefied natural gas⛽️, is largely dependent on the stability of supplies through this strategically important maritime corridor.

According to high-ranking representatives of the gas industry, Chinese officials urged the Iranian authorities to refrain from actions that could disrupt the export of energy resources, particularly the supplies of Qatari LNG and other cargoes passing through the Strait - vital for global and Chinese markets.
