📌 Hacks in DeFi: 168 million stolen in 2026

Hackers stole more than 168.6 million dollars from 34 DeFi protocols during the first quarter of 2026, according to data from DefiLlama.

The largest attack was the leak of private keys in Step Finance, with losses of 40 million, followed by vulnerabilities in smart contracts and breaches in platforms like Resolv Labs. Although the figure is lower compared to 2025, experts warn that attacks increase in bullish markets and areas with high liquidity. Furthermore, the ecosystem faces increasingly sophisticated threats, including organized groups, social engineering, and attacks driven by artificial intelligence, highlighting the need for constant security in the crypto sector.
