If you're tired of guessing where the market is heading, the Supertrend indicator (or simply 'super') on Binance is what the doctor ordered. It's a visual assistant that 'draws' the trend right on the chart, freeing your mind from unnecessary doubts.
🔍 What is it and how does it ‘think’?
📈 Trend navigator:
It doesn’t just follow the price, but shows the overall market weather.
⚙️ The math inside:
It is based on ATR (Average True Range). This means the indicator takes into account real volatility (how much the asset is ‘shaking’), not just dry price numbers.
🎨 Everything genius is simple:
🟢 Green color — the bulls are at the wheel, looking for entry points into long positions.
🔴 Red color — the bears are in charge, priority — short or cash out.
⚡ How it works in practice
🔹 Line below the price: acts as a dynamic support level. As long as the price is above — the trend is strong.
🔹 Line above the price: acts as resistance. Breaking it from bottom to top is the first sign of a reversal.
🔄 Signal to act: as soon as the price crosses the line and the candle closes on the other side — the indicator changes color. This is your ‘bell’.
🛠 Settings on Binance
Activation: Chart → Indicators → Search: Supertrend (SUPER).
Settings (Settings):
Classic (10 / 3): The golden mean for investors and swing traders.
Aggressor (7 / 2): For scalping on minute timeframes (reacts faster, but has more ‘noise’).
💡 My tips (not found in textbooks):
Timeframe matters: Supertrend reveals itself best on 1H, 4H, and 1D. On the 1-minute chart, it will make you make 100 trades an hour, half of which will break even.
Filter ‘200 EMA’: If the price is below the EMA 200, ignore green Supertrend signals (it could just be a bounce). Trade only in the direction of the global trend.
Don’t be greedy: Use the indicator line as a ‘trailing stop’ (pull the stop-loss along with the movement of the line). This way you will take the most from the trend and won’t lose profit during a sharp reversal.
⚠️ Caution: Sideways!
Supertrend — the ‘king’ of trends, but a ‘slave’ of sideways (flat) markets. When the price moves in a narrow corridor, the indicator will constantly change color, giving false signals. See a fence — don’t jump into a trade.
🔥 Conclusion: Supertrend is your filter for emotions. It says: ‘Calm down, the trend is not over yet’ or ‘Run, everything is falling’. Add it to your arsenal, and chaos in trading will be reduced by 50%!
