Elon Musk says AI "could kill us all" during Open AI lawsuit testimony.
Elon Musk told a federal jury Tuesday that artificial intelligence "could kill us all," putting AI safety at the center of his lawsuit against Open AI.
On the stand, Musk compared the risks of uncontrolled AI to "Terminator" and said the goal should be a future closer to "Star Trek." He argued that Open AI was originally created to keep powerful AI from being controlled by profit-driven tech giants.
Musk said those fears grew after a 2015 conversation with Google co-founder Larry Page, who allegedly accused him of being a "speciesist" for prioritizing humans over future digital intelligence.
The case centers on Musk's claim that Open AI abandoned its nonprofit mission after Chat GPT helped turn the company into one of the world's most valuable AI firms. Musk is seeking more than $150 billion in damages from Open AI and Microsoft.
Open AI lawyers say Musk lost a leadership fight, left the company, and is now suing after launching his own rival AI company, x AI.
Musk is expected back in court for cross-examination today.

2( 🇺🇸 🇮🇷 Treasury Secretary Bessent says the US is targeting Iran's "access to crypto."
The Treasury Department, through Economic Fury, has targeted Iran’s international shadow banking infrastructure, access to crypto, shadow fleet, weapons procurement networks, funding for terrorist proxies in the region, and independent Chinese “teapot” refineries that support Iran’s oil trade. These actions have disrupted tens of billions of dollars in revenue that would be used to fund terrorism.
Under POTUS’ maximum pressure campaign, Tehran’s inflation has doubled and its currency has rapidly depreciated.
Kharg Island, Iran’s primary oil export terminal, is soon nearing storage capacity, which will force the regime to reduce oil production, resulting in an additional approximately $170 million per day in lost revenue, and causing permanent damage to Iran’s oil infrastructure. Treasury will continue to exert maximum pressure and any person, vessel, or entity facilitating illicit flows to Tehran risks exposure to U.S. sanctions. )

2( Elon Musk says he tried to warn former President Obama about AI, but was not taken seriously because it was not smart enough yet.
"Here we are in 2026, AI is very smart.".
This was said today during Elon Musk testimony at the Open AI trial today.
Elon Musk argued Open AI was founded as a nonprofit, open-source counterweight to Google, focused on AI safety and benefiting humanity.
He claimed Open AI abandoned that mission by shifting toward a for-profit structure.
Elon warned the case could set a dangerous precedent, saying it could give others "license to loot every charity in America" and "it is not OK to steal a charity."
He also said AI could surpass human intelligence as soon as next year, making control of the technology extremely important.
