By using Zero-Knowledge-Proofs (ZK-Proofs), Midnight allows users to prove the accuracy of data without revealing the underlying sensitive information. This is a massive advance compared to conventional systems, where you often have to either disclose everything or remain completely anonymous, which deters institutions.
I find the architecture around the $NIGHT token particularly exciting. It not only serves as a governance token, but is the fuel for an ecosystem that makes selective disclosure the norm. In a world in which our digital footprints are growing, the protection of metadata is no longer a luxury, but a necessity.
