⚠️ Crypto Scammer Ends in Prison — Finally!
A rare but satisfying outcome in crypto justice 👇
🟠 A 23-year-old from Cardiff, Haroon Zaman, has been sentenced to 3 years & 8 months in prison after running a social-media crypto scam that stole £124,000 from at least 17 victims.
🟠 His playbook was simple and deadly:
• Hacked real social media accounts
• Impersonated trusted friends
• Promoted “risk-free” crypto opportunities
🟠 There was no trading, no investing — just pure theft. Funds sent by victims went straight into his pockets between Jan 2021 – Jun 2023.
🟠 Investigators confirmed zero investments existed. Only fake promises, stolen identities, and broken trust. Authorities called it a “complete disregard” for the harm caused.
🟠 Thanks to joint efforts by South Wales Police and the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit, this online scam finally met an offline ending.
