Re Protocol（$RE ） is an on-chain reinsurance capital market agreement designed to connect stablecoin capital with regulated traditional reinsurance risks. It belongs to the RWA (real-world assets) + DeFi insurance track.
Project overview
Business model: two-layer architecture
On-chain protocol (re.xyz): responsible for capital coordination, transparency, and liquidity. Licensed entity (Cover Re SPC, regulated in the Cayman Islands): responsible for actual underwriting, claims, and pricing to ensure compliance.
Products:
reUSD (senior layer): lower risk, yield ≈ SOFR + sUSDe benchmark + spread. reUSDe (junior layer): higher risk/higher yield, bearing more underwriting risk. Users deposit stablecoins such as USDC and USDe → the protocol allocates them into fully collateralized reinsurance contracts.
Achievements (pre-TGE): TVL nearly $600 million, underwriting premiums over $500 million. Target premium volume for 2026 is $310 million. Serves 40+ insurance partners and covers nearly 1 million U.S. policyholders.
$RE is a governance token (not a yield token), separated from reUSD/reUSDe. TGE was completed on June 18, 2026, and is already listed on platforms such as Binance and Coinbase.
Tokenomics
Total supply / max supply: 1 billion tokens (fixed; no inflation, no ongoing emissions). TGE circulating supply: ~159.6 million tokens (≈16%). Distribution (approx.):
Ecosystem 50% (part unlocked at TGE + 48-month linear vesting). Ecosystem development reserve 13%. Investors 17% (12-month cliff + 36-month linear). Core contributors 20% (same as above).
