Something i've been paying more attention to lately is how differently crypto measures success compared to almost every other industry.

most of the time people look at growth first.

higher tvl.

more users.

more capital flowing in.

but ive started wondering whether the more interesting metric is actualy what happens after the growth phase slows down.

that thought came back while i was spending time reading about Bedrock

with Bedrock 2.0, uniBTC and uniETH, the obvious conversation is usually around efficiency and liquidity. but personally i've become more interested in durability.

because attracting participation has never seemed like the hardest challenge in defi.

retaining participation usually is.

incentives can create attention.

attention can create activity.

but neither automatically creates long-term behavior.

thats why i keep finding myself watching what users do rather than what dashboards show.

do people continue using an asset because it solves a problem?

or because the rwards are temporarily attractive?

those can look identical for a while, but eventually the difference becomes obvious.

i think that's part of what makes projects like Bedrock interesting to observe. not because i have strong conclusions yet, but because they sit right at the intersection of liquidity, utility and user decision-making.

the real signal probably isn't how much capital arives.

its what that capital chooses to do once the novelty disappears.

for now im mostly watching whether the utility around uniBTC and uniETH continues to create reasons for participation beyond the initial excitement.

that answer probably tells a bigger story than any short-term number ever could.
