While Vance and Witkoff scramble between capitals, American oil and gas exports just hit all-time records.
U.S. crude shipments climbed to nearly 12.9 million barrels per day last week.
LNG exports set a new monthly high.
More than 60 empty supertankers are steaming toward the Gulf Coast, triple pre-war levels.
Japan used to source 95% of its oil from the Middle East.
It just signed $56 billion in energy deals with U.S. firms.
Europe now gets 60% of its LNG from America.
The dependency is becoming structural.
But there's a catch nobody is comfortable with.
Trump has already shown he'll use energy exports as political leverage.
The U.S. ambassador to the EU warned last month that Europe could lose favorable access to American gas unless it approved a stalled trade deal.
The longer-term picture has limits.
Asian refineries are built for heavy Middle Eastern crude, not the lighter American grades.
Overhauling them takes years and serious capital.
U.S. export terminals in Texas and Louisiana are approaching physical capacity.
New facilities won't fully come online until 2027.
And once Hormuz reopens at scale, the cost advantage of Gulf crude returns and U.S. shipments lose some of their appeal.
Still, even temporary dependency creates real permanent shifts.
