I think it starts with visibility. If you can't see something that directly changes your daily behavior, you assume it doesn't change anything at all. We are programmed to pay attention to the surface. Interfaces. Tokens with graphics. Products with dashboards. Infrastructure lies beneath all that, absorbing complexity so the surface can appear simple. And because of that, it rarely gets recognition at the outset.
There is also a narrative problem. It is easier to tell a story about disruption than about coordination. It is easier to sell a revolution than reliability. When a project promises to turn the industry upside down overnight, people are intrigued. When a project claims it is fixing the verification layer or strengthening backend logic, eyes go blank. That sounds technical. Distant. Almost emotionless.
