Bitnomial Secures CFTC Approval to Clear Fully Collateralized Crypto Swaps
Bitnomial, a cryptocurrency derivatives exchange, has received approval from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to clear fully collateralized swap contracts. The regulatory green light allows Bitnomial to expand into prediction market services centered on cryptocurrency and key economic events.
With this approval, Bitnomial’s clearing arm, Bitnomial Clearinghouse, is authorized to offer an expanded range of clearing services to partner prediction markets. The move is expected to improve collateral efficiency by enabling liquidity movement between U.S. dollars and cryptocurrencies, strengthening the infrastructure for regulated crypto-based derivatives and prediction markets in the United States.
