I have been chewing over the idea of the Triffin dilemma for a few weeks.
This is the theory from economist Robert Triffin in the 1960s that any national currency struggles long term as a global currency. The end game is when so much of the currency is held abroad that the issuing country can no longer back the value.
We can see this now with the $usd. It has lost value because it can't remain as high without affecting the US economy. 💵
The US needs to constantly run deficits and huge debts. It is no longer sustainable.
Some economists suggest that 2026 is late stage Triffin
Something has to change.
Where does $btc come In?
Bancor was suggested in the 1940s as a borderless global currency to avoid this sort of situation. There would be no need for a central bank to issue or settle it.
We would no longer need to use a national currency for international trade.
Sounds a lot like Bitcoin, right? One theory is that btc could act as a type of triffin exit strategy. Money would go here instead of the Dollar.
This would make the market cap explode and make it much more stable, as usd flows into bitcoin as a permanent solution.
Us treasury secretary Scott Bessent believes that the Triffin Dilemma requieres that the Bretton Woods system is restrucutred vía tarriffs and Dollar correction.
He also supoorts a strategic bitcoin reserve to act as a buffer.
I believe it's not a coincidence that the Trump administration has talked about crypto from day one. For me, it is a possible Triffin exit they are seriously considering. They are playing the long game. 🤔

Look for the project's response to see the possible future effect. High leverage un futures contracts are amplifying the drop and could do the same to any recover y.

With a 30% drop today, $RIVER is flowing in the wrong direction. 🤽
What has happened?
#river is now down 15% from launch. A pump had raised it to $10 but it has now fallen to just $2.80.
People converting River points and selling seems to have put the price under strain. This caused sell-offs and panic
The model should stabilise once the points mechsnism is tweaked again. Look for updates on that.
The numbers are bearish, though.
So look for the MACD to turn bulish if supoort at $2.42 holds firm

Now that #gun has dropped back, I decided to buy the dip.
I put the minimum into an arbitrage bot. $gun currently gives over 200% apr.
But if it bounces back up this should increase substantially
Update - still falling. Gun has so far failed to turn the earlier 0.016 resistance into support

The charts are turning a lovely shade of green today. Yet, $FOLKS stands out with a 50% plunge into hell.
Folks Finance enjoyed a glorious pump this week to almost $50.
But now it fell to $11.
It is still up 440% on launch price so early buyers are happy.
The fall is probably just profit taking after a huge rally. However, the critical support at $23 needs to be recovered soon.
The recent #folks roadmap hasn't inspired market confidence. Look for a climb back to that support level for the feel good factor😋

$bas has had an interesting year that might still end on a high.
The BNB attestation service reached an ath of 0.15 during a massive spike in october. It seemed unstoppable at that time
It fell back to. 0.04 but is starting to wake up again 🤨
After the long consolidation period, the next resistance seems to be at 0.0107. This rally could see #bas end the year as one of the top #alpha winners
I think I will keep holding the #bas I bought when it started falling in october.

Many traders are worried about $btc.
The big issue right now is that a Japanese rate hike could cause traders to move out of risky assets like btc and eth
It's called the Yen Carry Trade Unwind because traders have traditionally used cheap yen lending to buy btc and other assets. 🇯🇵
If the rates go up, traders may be forced to sell their riskier assets
We don't how big an effect this will have or if it is already baked into the price. Don't believe anyone saying that they know the answer. It is too complex for simple answers.
We can probably expect more volatility but no one knows what happens next. This is uncharted territory. 🚣
