The company MicroStrategy #MSTR , led by Michael Saylor, holds over 400,000 BTC, remaining the largest public holder.

MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International) is an organization that creates lists of reliable companies. In June 2024, MSTR was included in the MSCI index.

ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) funds track such indices. For example, the management company BlackRock manages funds, some of which are required to replicate the MSCI composition.

The charts show: MSTR shares are falling much more sharply than BTC due to the use of leverage. This has led to MSCI considering the exclusion of MicroStrategy from the index.

On January 15, 2026, there will be a meeting to decide the fate of MSTR in MSCI.

If MSTR is excluded, MSCI-related funds will have to immediately, forcibly sell about $2.8 billion worth of shares. And if Nasdaq-100 follows MSCI, the total potential outflow could reach $8.8 billion (MSTR's capitalization $59 billion).

This book describes an excellent method for identifying market reversals, namely, the divergence between price and MACD values. In short, if the price forms a new peak and the MACD histogram forms a peak lower than the previous one, then prepare for a decline, and vice versa.

This is exactly what you can see in my first picture on the 1-week timeframe. Our last bullish cycle had three peaks, with the MACD histogram showing the latest peak lower than the previous one.

Now let's look at the second picture. The last time something similar happened, the price fell by 70%. Based on this, we can conclude that the positive market bottom forecast is around 85,000 (I've written about this level before), assuming a 70% decline from the last impulse. The negative forecast would be 70% from the start of the bullish cycle, with Bitcoin bottoming at 40,000.

Based on how well the Fibonacci timelines have worked, a positive forecast of 85,000 can be expected in late winter to mid-spring 2026. If we see a strong rebound from 85,000, then by the end of summer 2026 we could see a price of 150,000.

The negative forecast is that the price of 40,000 bitcoin may be reached by the end of 2026 - beginning of 2027.
