I smiled, pushed my tea aside, and told him this:
š First, zoom out. Anything below the daily chart is just noise. I only glance at the 4H for structure, but my real entries come from the daily or even weekly candles.
š I start small, just testing the waters. Once the weekly close confirms the trend, thatās when I gradually add size. My stop-loss is always wideāplaced just beyond the weekly lows. That way the market can breathe, and I can sleep.
š From entry to exit? Minimum one month.
During that time, I donāt sit glued to charts. I just spend 3 minutes after the daily close checking my plan: Are we trending or consolidating? Thatās it.
The rest of my life? Reading, gym, coding, even side hustles. People around me only think I ādabble in investments.ā Nobody knows Iām quietly holding a seven-figure position.
The difference?
Most people canāt hold because they see every tick of floating PnL. I donāt look at that. I only see the life and death of the trend. If the structureās intact, I treat the position like it doesnāt even exist.
Sure, 9 out of 10 small stop-losses will sting, but that one win? It pays back all the losses plus a yearās living expenses. Big money isnāt made by overtrading; itās gifted by the market when you catch the wave.
My advice? Start small, maybe 0.1 lot, and scale when youāre right. The less you trade, the bigger your leverage can be. Trade too often? Even gods canāt save you.
Remember: itās not about trading more, itās about trading better.
