Atomic Wallet and... disappointment

I couldn't believe my astonishment, something must have been wrong: I suddenly looked at my holdings in Atomic Wallet and there were $36,000 in DOT tokens. The most curious thing about this is that I had never bought a single DOT... ever!
While I was looking at my family, I closed the app, went back in, and it was still there, with no possibility that I could return that money to its owner. I assumed that someone must have made a mistake with the address when transferring their coins and that it had reached me by mistake. Finally, I tried to withdraw that money... I already had a destination in my imagination! But no, like a cruel joke, the wallet displayed a message "operation error," over and over until that balance disappeared.
Evidently, AW was showing me a balance that did not belong to my account 😥
