Stock and crypto trading arrives on X with cashtags
Last February, Nikita Bier, the product director of X, presented Cashtags, an optimized version of $TICKERS providing financial information on cryptocurrencies or stocks directly on the social network.
Today, this new feature arrives on iPhone for X users in the United States and Canada. The interest in this innovation is that it aligns with Elon Musk's desire to transform the social network into a super app:
"When you search for or post a cashtag (or a contract address), X will automatically suggest corresponding stocks or crypto tokens, so you can select the exact asset you had in mind. Anyone who clicks on a Cashtag will see the posts that mention it, as well as its price chart — without ever leaving X. This ensures that you are always connected to discussions about the right stock or token."
Moreover, it even becomes possible to trade directly on X, at least in Canada, thanks to a pilot integration with the broker Wealthsimple.
Regarding the web version and the Android version, Nikita Bier specified that they are coming "very soon" just like a global launch of these new features.
