In Poland, some animal protection organizations have adopted advanced technology to tackle winter abuse. Groups like Ekostraż are using drones equipped with thermal cameras to spot dogs exposed to the cold at night.
Thanks to this system, they can identify the body heat of the animals even in total darkness, allowing them to locate cases where they are tied up or in inadequate conditions.
The initiative also has a legal focus, as regulations require that dogs have a minimum space to move and prohibit them from being permanently chained.
