I have always felt that capable game development teams should stay in the Web2 realm, continuously creating more attractive and engaging new games and gameplay that can retain players.
At the same time, any new field is worth exploring by development teams and players, such as developing a blockchain game that operates on the blockchain.
These two are not in conflict.
As for the future direction, only by doing and having done can one know the outcome; being washed up on the shore is a highly probable event, so only brave people dare to jump out of their comfort zones to become trailblazers in Web3.
Of course, this is a fully non-essential condition.
In fact, what we ultimately see is that many, or rather the vast majority, of those making blockchain games are game teams that couldn't succeed in the Web2 realm.
