The recent update of the network #Ethereum makes many users, starting with me particularly happy 🫣 I was tired of exorbitant gas fees and slow transactions!
But when you take a step back, you realize that the network has sacrificed several aspects to satisfy us, notably:
• SECURITY
With this new update, the number of Address poisoning attacks has literally exploded since gas fees have dropped by nearly 90% compared to the 30% that was expected in the forecasts.
• TOKENOMICS
Less fees = less burn which makes it more inflationary $ETH .
Less fees = validators fear rewards which reduces their incentive to secure the network, especially since they are few 🤧.
The network also plans to have a new update by mid-2026 named #Glamsterdam which aims to further improve scalability and raise gas fees to 200M, which could further deteriorate security and tokenomics if nothing is done 🙆.
