New data from Odaily shows Ethereum's supply has grown by over 950,000 units since the Merge upgrade completed.
Total circulation now sits at approximately 121.5 million ETH.
Annual inflation rate is around 0.23%.
For context: Before the Merge, Ethereum was inflationary at around 3-4% annually. The shift to proof-of-stake was supposed to make ETH "ultrasound money" with net supply reduction during high network activity.
But here we are. Supply is slowly ticking up.

Why? Lower network fees mean less ETH burned. When demand drops, issuance outpaces burns.
This doesn't break the Ethereum thesis. But it kills the "ultrasound money" narrative for now.

Still, 0.23% inflation is lower than Bitcoin's upcoming sub-1% rate post-halving. And far lower than the 2-3% fiat inflation central banks target.
